THRIFTY Car Rental at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt am Main's airport has two terminals. Thrifty Frankfurt Airport is open every day of the week between the hours of 06:00 and 00.00, and their rental counter can be found in the arrivals area of Terminal 2. Reservations can be made using the form above. Thrifty is one of several companies offering rental cars at Frankfurt Airport.

The airport is not the only location where you can find a Thrifty rental station. There is a large Mietwagen Center (Car Rental Center) in the city center, at the main train station (Hauptbahnhof or Hbf for short). From Mondays to Fridays this Thrifty office is open from 07.00 to 21.00. On Saturdays and Sundays the rental station at Frankfurt's Hauptbahnhof is open from 08.00 to 17.00. The basic rental rate Thrifty Frankfurt Airport offers includes 600 free kilometers and 3rd party liability insurance cover. It is possible to add Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection to reduce liability considerably. Simply add Thrifty's SuperCover to your booking and your liability reduces down to ZERO. Customers can pay now or on arrival and there are no credit card charges.

Credit cards accepted include all cards with the Eurocard, VISA and Mastercard symbol. Hertz Charge Cards are also accepted. Some debit cards are acceptable, but if you do use a debit card to pay for your car rental upon arrival at Frankfurt Airport, you will be asked to also show a credit card to secure your booking. A deposit will be held against your credit card. Thrifty regrets it cannot accept Visa Electron, any entertainment cards or Maestro debit cards.

The name of the person renting the car, minibus or van must be the name shown on the credit or debit card used for the payment. The renter must also be in possession of a valid form of ID (ID card or passport) and a driving license in the name of the renter. The driving license must have been held for at least a 12-month period prior to the beginning of the rental agreement.

The basic Thrifty rate also includes all airport fees and local taxes, VAT and service charges. It does not include fuel, toll road fees or parking fines, additional drivers or premium roadside assistance. Vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank to the Thrifty parking area at the end of the rental agreement. There are two petrol station close to the terminals.

Optional extras available from Thrifty Frankfurt Airport are GPS navigation systems, SuperCover, Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection, WiFi hotspots for Internet usage inside the vehicle, baby and/or child booster seats and additional drivers. Additional drivers incur a daily charge throughout the duration of the rental.
